Update regarding 2021 Dronfield 10K
It is with regret that we announce that the Dronfield 10k 2021 will not be going ahead as normal.
With the current restrictions as it is regarding lockdown and social distancing, we do not feel that hosting the 10k in 2021 is possible.
Trying to balance minimum numbers to make the event viable, maintaining social distancing (whatever that looks like in March) for those runners and spectators and obtaining volunteers to make it all happen on the day feels an impossible task. The inability to meet with the committee face to face has introduced challenges. The costs involved with setting up road closures and chip timing are too great to risk the scout group's money in a year that they are already down on subscriptions.
All deferrals from 2020 will carry forward to 2022.
We are hosting a virtual event this year in place of our normal event. We are very much learning as we go on this, having never organised a virtual race before.
We're aiming to keep the costs low, whilst making a few quid for the Scout group. With this in mind, we're offering a medal (the 'Harry' medal from a previous year), we've spent hours developing our own entry system using Paypal to process monies.
Should this prove to be popular it may be something we look to recreate in the future, possibly as a 5k to accompany our main 10k.

We wish to thank all of our runners and supporters for your understanding.
Now in its 26th year, the Dronfield 10k is a two lap road race set in Dronfield Woodhouse, just south of Sheffield. The course is accredited by UK Athletics, and is a well-marshalled undulating route on roads.
The Fun Run, which takes places at the same time, is a 2km run around the traffic-free estate footpaths.
The purpose of both events is to raise funds for 7th Dronfield Scout Group. A donation is also made every year to the current Dronfield Mayor's charity. See how the money is spent.
